9:00 AM - 1:30 PM

About: Camp Create is a weeklong day camp designed to allow children to immerse themselves into a creative environment including visual arts, music, theater, and creative movement. Activities include games, art projects, and free play! On the last day of camp, the children will host their own ‘Camp Create Showcase’ for family and friends to attend. The camp is specifically designed for children entering the 1st – 6th grades. Enrollment is limited to 40 campers to ensure an ideal student/councilor ratio and hands-on learning experiences.

Camp Directors: The camp is led by Abigail Lenz Allen, Program Coordinator of smART space administered by the Hattiesburg Arts Council; Olivia Drinkwater, Director of Music at Sacred Heart Catholic School; and Ellen Keever, Art Instructor at smART Space.

What to Bring: Campers should bring a sack lunch with drink; refillable water bottle; comfortable, closed-toe shoes; comfortable clothing that is easy to move in (shorts and t-shirts are best). Snacks and water will be provided daily. Lunch is also available for purchase for $5 per day.

Date & Time: The camp takes place July 23 - 27 daily from 9am – 1pm. On Friday, July 27, the ‘Camp Create Showcase’ takes place from 1-1:30pm. Please plan to arrive by 12:50pm so you do not miss the performance!

Location: The camp will be held in the ‘Thirsty Hippo Music Hall’ at 309 McLeod St. The Thirsty Hippo is a full service restaurant and music venue located in downtown Hattiesburg and is open to all ages!

Registration: The cost of the camp is $185 (1 camper); $330 (2 campers); $435 (3 campers) and $500 (4 campers). The fee includes a camp t-shirt. Extended care is available 1-3pm each day for an additional $15 per day per camper.
